Finding blog themes with professional grade typography is still nearly impossible, both in Pelican and Hugo.

I mean it's not that that level of typography can be found anywhere else online either so I guess that figures.

Pelican is an obvious contender because it's written in Python and has already managed to do a full import (without images). But I worry that as a project it's a bit too small and not very active.

You see that for instance in the theme selection it offers and how many of those are broken […]

I wouldn't mind my blog and pages to run on Forrester, but that seems a bit too niche to be very ergonomic for every day use.

Forrester and its family of projects Stacks, Gerby (which mostly seem to be used to publish category theory in) are very neat.

Trying to import my blog using wp2hugo has given me a "panic: runtime error: invalid memory address or nil pointer dereference". Maybe Go is not that memory safe after all?

I had the German school system explained to me to to bottom and it is quite hopeless. Difficult even if you’re fluent in German, not sure what you would do if you aren’t.

The funny thing is that despite burning 4000+ calories per day (6k on one day) during this trip, I came back and had gained weight. Those second dinners and late night konbini snacks add up.

I had breakfast the next morning at the Narita McDonalds.

Then during the 14 hour flight Swiss Air sent us off with soba noodles, matcha cake, chicken katsu and stir fried udon noodles. Not at all bad.

OK but then maybe…

You can get something nice to eat or drink on the way? No.
The trains are quiet? No.
The people are decent? Also no.
The stations are clean? Nah.

Reverse culture shock coming in.
