Clearly more bribing of Trump available in the auto business than homebuilding, or we'd be able to buy homes that are less than 600 sq ft. You know, executive order telling states that local zoning is a Federally controlled right. I wish all of this was facetious instead of just some of it

All they care about are the fucking quotas. If we take our country back, we need to ensure that no government employee is eligible for a monetary bonus for increasing production. In any role. Period. You get a damn raise of like 2%, like the rest of us

How idiotic they are to think that their wages & spending come anywhere near the cost of living (& thus spending) in urban areas where Democrats are most concentrated. Their worlds are So Small

I'd argue that between Covid and now that he's murdered or directly caused the deaths of likely hundreds of thousands of people worldwide

Ha! Mine & the poor dumped strays need me, so here we are 😉

I'm really sorry & know exactly how you feel. I suspect that like me it's been a loss of your whole identity, but you never seem to feel sorry for yourself. I'm sure you have bad days but that's not the same as getting mired in self pity.I've seen that happen & it takes a strong will not to go there
December 5, 2025 at 1:02 AM
True, unfortunately. You seem to take the knocks really well & get yourself right back up. Admirable

Yeah, I decided better to risk it being colder than being too scary, so I took the plastic off & he's come back & scarfed some food. The heating pad in this one isn't great, unfortunately. I'm going to leave everything as-is because change is clearly terrifying for him

Ah man, I really get that. I wish the meds I'm taking would help you, too. They take the edge off, for which I'm very grateful. Different and less impactful issues here, but also started in March. Man, we are cursed, the two of us 😆

I think those are the ones that are actually flexible & don't tear as easily, aren't they? They're an occasional treat, too. Mostly I do corn tortilla chip nachos. Less expensive & I toss some cheese on & refried beans for a pretty healthy inexpensive meal.

Man, I swear all I ate before getting diagnosed were things like Suzie Qs, bread, and cereal like raisin bran. Raisin bran is THE food I miss more than anything else in the world. Used to snack on it without milk.

Is there any kind of GF bread you can do? I like Trader Joes sandwich bread taste & consistency, but the giant holes suck. Otherwise this is the only GF bread I eat now, for the most part. I get Canyon rarely because it's $8.49/loaf. It's heavy but makes a good sandwich if you cut a slice in half

Ha! I do find that caramel ones kinda tasty, I have to admit. I'd been splurging on shipped NY style bagels, but the company kept running into shipping issues & I gave that up. At least this is available locally. Europeans know how to do gluten free 😁

I decided to take the plastic cover off & he's been coming & going again. I think I figured out how to tell them apart on the night vision. The overnight guy has a slight curl to his tail, so I may call him Monkey Tail or MT. This one is terrified of everything, which breaks my heart

It's been a long time, but before I was diagnosed my diet was 70% bread products (you find out how much when you get diagnosed & go the dietician to learn how to eat gluten free). So I crave it & it's a splurge item.
December 4, 2025 at 11:35 PM
I was grumbling that the artisan gluten free bread I get is just unbearably expensive. 5 slices for $5.99 (it's Schar brand and is imported, of course).

Our future is in such peril. And I don't mean the distant future, I mean the next few years. I wish we had more power to lock the GOP up for their crimes
December 4, 2025 at 11:22 PM
Oh hey, nice that something good came out of it
December 4, 2025 at 11:21 PM
Wow! I moved in with my ex while still in college. We got married as soon as I graduated & he was employed most of the time, so that helped. Lived in newer small 1 BD apartments so utilities & rent were low. So avoided a lot of that, luckily

Republicans need to get their asses out there & start filling the jobs that were "taken" by immigrants. And I don't mean professional positions, either (they're not educated enough). They need to start doing the hard labor low paying jobs that are beneath them, but also "stolen" from them
December 4, 2025 at 11:18 PM
If we take back our country & can't find a way to counter the bigoted, racist, misogynistic old men who've taken over our highest Court, we're still kinda f'd
December 4, 2025 at 11:16 PM
I feel so bad for good people suffering the consequences, in spite of doing the right thing themselves
December 4, 2025 at 11:13 PM
Don't know about you guys, but I ended up working 2 jobs since the job out of college paid so little I couldn't even get (my 1st) car. I worked 72 hrs a week for a while, but was so tired I kept seeing possums on the side of the rd that weren't there. But also was able to pay off student loan early

Really good insight-I hadn't thought of that
