A favorite collaboration has been with Kolkata based fashion designer LataSita, led by Meghna Nayak, who make futuristic clothing out of old sarees. The energy of this has a lot of parallels with how we imagined Kuyili meeting Rishabh, the VP of the company destroying the river in Muziris. He's surrounded by vultures and so started for real charisma and charm that Kuyili makes a big impact on him. @meghna.bsky.social #writing #gamedev #indiedev

We just found a bug where the line 'I want to destroy something' is part of EVERY set of dialogue choices in the game. Sadly, @hugobille.bsky.social fixed the bug, with some regret in his heart. Nevertheless, a relatable sentiment. #IndieGame #IndieDev #politics

Sometimes, though, you want to be careful, and not show your hand, so to speak. Just like people, even antagonists, can let information slip to you, you can benefit your opponents in the same way.

One of the best things is - you can come back to conversations. So that means that even in a conversation where you did not get everything you wanted, you'll still get more cards - more info, more approaches, which you can take to other battles. And come back stronger and more informed. #indiegames

Your cards represent strategies - are you playing more on a person's understanding of a situation (minds), their empathy (hearts) or their anger or courage (guts)? People are sensitive to different approaches - and the way you build your deck is also a way to give shape to Kuyili. #Indiegames

The cards that people hold become a way for us to help express what people care most about. For instance, in your first conversation with the community-minded fisherman Shabeer you find that he's hesitant to speak about the river burning, so he tells you stories about his daughters instead. #gamedev

The deckbuilding approach also allows us to mix very different things - evidence for the case with emotional strategies to encourage people to open up or to become more sympathetic to your cause. These are represented by different types of cards.
