Phil Trans, 3 of the past 4. ProcB covers seem to be better (animal photos).

I'd guess because of the way special issues of Phil Trans focus on some grand concept, there's a temptation to try to generate an image that encapsulates that (but without, like, putting a ton of creative energy into it)

* This is also obviously some serious correlation/causation shenanigans, but I think that is what they are hoping the reader will conclude: that ADHD drugs are causing kids to end up taking more drugs.

I have decoded the cursed graph, and as best as I can tell, their intended point is either
a) that being prescribed ADHD drugs in 2019 leads* to being prescribed more drugs, but they're bad at making clear graphics
b) SO MANY KIDS ARE USING DRUGS, and they are ok at making misleading graphics.

In fairness, it would have been hard to find an artist that could draw them the very important lung-brain tube, or that mysterious and under-studied organ that floats on our right side above our lungs.
