She would certainly be in a good position to claim that that was how she heard.

Norovirus. Hopefully merely a device to give Lily and Josh a bit of time out to think about their futures, and not a device to kill off Leonard and/or Jill, or maybe Shula (although they probably won't still be infectious by the time she arrives).

I'm not sure it was anything as deliberate as that. It's more that Josh has realised that maybe his relationship with Nina was only in his imagination. Lucky for him that he's realised before he funded her though!

I first came across it on umra but maybe that was after your time. I have heard it elsewhere, occasionally, since then, so I think it is out in the wild, rather than being unique to umra / umrats.

Sounds rather like my dad, although he was a decade or more older than your fil. My neplings were still fairly young when he died and I think he might have found it harder to accept them staying in the state system than my mother did.

More likely that he'll be convinced that he would have been fine, if only he'd been welcomed in by a white receptionist and been able to see a white doctor. It's all Lottie and Azra's fault that he ended up in ICU.

I think my parents were mildly concerned about my neplings being educated in the state system. They did recognise that times had changed though.

My family were far from being landed gentry but my brothers and I were sent to boarding school, despite both my parents having hated it, because it was "the done thing". Years later, my mother commented, rather plaintively, that it would have been a very brave decision not to have done that.

Google suggests that the change was earlier than I realised. It became impossible to set up new entails in 1925 and, after that, it was relatively easy to break the entail. I assume it was broken by Nigel's father. As you say though, Nigel loved the old conventions.

I think Nigel may have inherited under the entail but, since then, the legal framework for those has been dismantled. Nigel chose to write his will following the traditional system but, without the entail, Freddie isn't tied as to who he can leave it to, when the time comes.

I thought they'd lent them their space heaters.

Yes, I would have thought so. Trouble is, both he and Ed suspect he might be fast tracked back inside. Given that the police weren't involved, this seems unlikely to me.

I assume she's going on a Working Holiday Visa. So long as you've got the necessary AUD670 (around £330), it looks as if that's easy enough to get. She's then allowed to work, while she's out there. She should be well placed to get hospitality work.

Most often wood, but I have heard it used of stone, as well. I think it can be a thin layer of any material, laid over a (generally cheaper) material.

Maybe, if she and Brad get together, she'll decide that university might be a good idea, after all. She and Brad might move to Felpersham and settle there.

I agree. Like her mother, she's frequently unlikeable but they both have moments of being really kind, and empathetic, people. That's the kind of complex characterisation which TA has always done so well.

You've left off one of the most likely, in my opinion, candidates. George himself. If that happened, you can imagine how Emma, in particular, will guilt trip Chris, Jolene, and others, for how they treated him.

Yes, I think that's a big part of it, along with it being easier to remain in denial about how serious it is, if he doesn't have to go to the doctor. The other factor is that he doesn't want to risk being told he needs to take time off work, even if he knows, really, that he should.

It would also be almost impossible to pull that trick with a character we've known since his conception. Rob was only in the village for a few years, so it wasn't surprising that most people took him at face value.

I think that yes, he probably will. It's possible that he'll confront George about it but he won't want to worry Emma.

Yes, George has definitely learned from Grandpa Eddie. Retain the patronising attitude, while actually relying on the woman in your life to keep the show on the road.

Yes, but not quite so readily available, if he has to go looking. If it takes a bit of time to find a weapon to use on himself, the more chance there is that he'll think better of it.

Yes, sadly that would be another, all too possible, outcome. It's a good thing that Will no longer owns a gun.
