I hope Ohtani getting relentlessly intentionally walked last night triggers the league to do something about the intentional walk. In no other sport can you simply say, "that guy doesn't get to play" like in baseball. It hurts the sport to miss four ABs by one of the greatest players in history.

For those watching Kraken on Prime where they're having technical difficulties, the game is going on Hulu right now...

has anyone given a moment's thought to how sacramento's basketball players must feel

I was at last night's game and there were a TON of Blue Jays fans. I would not assume that the boos heard after George Springer was hit came from Mariners fans.

I'm getting that Sonics '96 feeling where you know you're looking at facing an all-time great player and team in the finals if you make it. Even so, that was a great series and you never know what can happen. Might as well go win the whole fuckin' thing.

Today on Volts: In a big blue city, a progressive up-and-comer is challenging an establishment Democrat to be mayor, having already scored a surprise win in the primary. Naturally I'm talking about Seattle's Katie Wilson! We talk housing, transit, public order, the threat of Trump, & much more.

We just watched a team score before their first out of the game, then get shut out for nine. Need to add on.

At least let me hit send on my post saying they need to get to this guy early

This is about how I felt watching the game. Additon wasn't accurate or consistent and he was hurting the M's more.

The Mariners pitching did get lucky on a lot of hard-hit balls tonight. Miller's FIP was 5.80. And just watching the game there were a lot of "Oh no.....WHEW" moments so it meets the eye test for me.

Nevertheless the win is in the books. The M's are three wins from the World Series holy craaaap.

Incredible win. I honestly thought they would need at least six runs with Miller on short rest. They needed two.
October 13, 2025 at 3:00 AM
Does this team really look like they're "on fumes?"
October 13, 2025 at 2:04 AM
Cal's Dinger and Julio's walk chasing Gausman is huge. Honestly thought he might go eight.
October 13, 2025 at 1:41 AM
Miller spotted the Jay's a run and still threw four innings of one run ball.

That Kraken game would've stressed me out a lot more, but after all these high-stakes Mariners games I rode it out like a champ. Amazing finish.
October 12, 2025 at 5:01 AM
The availability of Mariners pitchers will be a huge part of the story for the ALCS, obviously. If they can get Woo to start game 1 or 2 that's huge. He could pitch two starts before game 7. If Miller pitches the other, that gives whomever starts game 3 five days' rest from last night.
October 11, 2025 at 5:37 PM
The next guy up in the bullpen will probably not be that good. Now is the time.
