Also, if your vehicle was parked outside overnight, please remember to clean it off completely before driving today. Drivers are required by law to have a clear, unobstructed view of the road at all times, and snow and ice coming off a vehicle can be a serious hazard. Let’s keep everyone safe!

However, drivers should remain cautious when venturing out. With the very cold temperatures expected today and tomorrow, snow runoff can quickly refreeze, creating slick spots. That’s especially true on bridges and ramps.

If you must venture out tonight, please slow down, avoid sudden stops and turns, leave extra space between your vehicle and the one in front of you. If you experience a snow-related emergency, please call 9-1-1.

It takes our drivers a few hours to complete their routes and reload with salt. So, there is snow and slick spots on our roads tonight. If you can, avoid driving tonight to stay safe and let our salt truck drivers clear the snow faster.

If you have to venture out, we encourage you to ensure that your tires are in good condition, slow down, avoid making any sudden turns or stops, leave extra space between your vehicle and the one in front of you, and stay six car lengths behind our salt trucks. (5/6)

With this snow storm occurring during the weekend, please stay off the roads, if possible, when the snowfall is heaviest. That will help keep everyone safe and allow our salt truck drivers to clear the snow faster. (4/6)
December 12, 2025 at 4:30 PM
It typically takes our drivers about 1 to 2 hours to complete our routes and another hour to return to the nearest garage, reload with salt, and restart their routes. So, when the snowfall is heaviest tomorrow, there will be accumulation and slick spots on our roadways. (3/6)

When snow begins to fall tomorrow morning, we will deploy 24 salt trucks installed with plows. We likely will add more trucks when the snowfall is expected to be heaviest Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning. (2/6)
