That snowman looks deeply threatening.

Did we really wear a tie while playing with our toys in 1967? I confess that I can't remember doing so. Perhaps I was a raggmuffin. I was often called worse.

Oh that fair makes me feel ancient. They were still advertising 78s in the year I was born! Mind you, HMV were pressing 78s, inducing Beatles hits, into the 1970s. Small comfort perhaps.

That's awful. I'd be sure to trip over those raised bits!

I thought the first one had wool for hair then I realised it's foam.

All objects of wonder and desire especially the gas lighter. I used to love playing with these and causing minor conflagrations.

Astounding! Astonishing! I never thought I would see an ad for the fairly rare Portadyne. Photo of mine attached. Still working perfectly after 93 years. I bet I won’t look as good or work as well at 93!

"77 Shops Besieged"? Slight exaggeration perhaps!

I want several reels of that gay Sellotape! "Gayotape"?

Oh I say! The receiver of a Bakelite 200 or 300 series GPO phone as late at 1966. I would have expected a 700 series.

If only I'd had twelve guineas in 1955...

Oh I say! I had one of those on my bike. It produced a quite hideous squawk. Like someone treading on a hen.

Why does she look familiar?

That decorator looks distinctly dodgy!

Spindly legged metal tables and chairs were the height of modernity and fashion in 1965. No old fashioned wooden things for the likes of us, oh dear me no. How times change!

I've still got all these Lovely Lethal Lights!

The pyjamas haven't changed much but thank goodness this has. I hope they were fireproof!

A crystal - or, to be more accurate, a geranium diode - radio. How I craved one when I was a child. Now I have a drawer full of them!

Lurking in my Aladdin's Cave of a loft!

No star has ever posed and moved as magnificently as Joan Collins. When she executed a turn on camera her dress followed a few milliseconds behind. Wonderful. Why isn't she more of a gay icon?

That's the exact set we had, second hand, in 1963 and on which I watched the first episode of Doctor Who. But I didn't hide behind the sofa. I had just turned 11 and was (in my own mind) far too grown up to be frightened! Years later I encountered the original TRADIS console at TC. I fondled it!

At first glance that ad for headphones might seem a trifle obscure. But as soon as I saw the stylised name 'Brown' I knew it was for headphones. Such was S. G. Brown's fame in the 1920's. I wasn't born that far back but I collect old wirelesses!

Lisle St. When I worked in the area in 1970 Lisle Street, together with Tottenham Court Road and Edgware Road, was a veritable Mecca for war surplus electronic goodies. From which could be constructed pirate Medium Wave radio transmitters. Or so I'm led to believe...
