It's got to be on purpose, right? Except it's Spotlight...

(That pearl. Nearly, nearly...).

This is not a #SecretSantaAoNZ hint!!

This is my favourite animal, begging pats. How could she not be? I mean, look at that face.

Meanwhile, in mythical creatures, have you heard of the Fear Gorta, the Man of Hunger? A phantom in the shape of man. Emaciated, blue with cold. All elbows and torn clothing. #SecretSantaAoNZ🧵

Ha! There's no culture in the drawers either...I did just make a recent attempt to clean up the spilled glitter. 😇💅

Some people apparently keep china in the sideboard. 🤷‍♀️ #SecretSantaAoNZ.

PS And lastly since you asked, car and bike and run and Irish dance and travel. And this weekend, tramp. I bitched the whole way up and the whole way down (and it wasn't that far) but here is the view from Mt Bealey route yesterday. I hope this🧵 helps #SecretSantaAoNZ! Meri Kirihimete to you 5/5

How my day started. This is a 'partners who garden' appreciation post.

Roadside honesty box peonies and I'm getting equal enjoyment from the flowers, my late Nana's vase, and the continued existence of honesty boxes. $5 well spent. #HappyMonday

My kid called it "a massive aura loss"

But I see a 16yo who got stuck, thought 'i could try and down climb but mum and dad would be upset if I break something", sent for help, and was cool enough to admit that he was scared. No kiddo, that's not an aura loss in my book.

I have two teenagers. How many days do we think this will last?

And Eire. Sorry, Ireland.

Commenters on the English 'needing' to be before Te Reo on our passports: border security officers need to see the English first.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Greek passport cover

Christchurch/Otautahi icon on a sunny winter's day. Followed by Charlie's ice.

For a while, this area (Victoria Square) was a trading place between Ngai Tahu hapu and colonial settlers. For the longest time (and in my childhood memories), it was very English, but good to see that changing.

Hello, Jack.
Today's gratitude: living in a house with good insulation and double glazing. And skylights.
Also: Frosty Otautahi mornings that bring hope of getting the washing dry.

I really don't want to promote temu, or FB, but omg the algorithm is wack. Even if Easter was in July this year, not sure this would be on my 'make it festive' list.

I, just, I mean. Ok, speechless.
Public toilets are woke now?
(Obvs bike lanes aren't either, but at least I know the context for that shit).

While satisfying, I would have preferred it to run out after I had finished hemming both legs.

Are we really laughing? Maybe on a societal level, but on an individual level I don't think anyone finds it funny if men (and boys) they care about don't have good friends.

the best recipes have the most stained pages. This is more delicious than it sounds and uses 6 cups of courgettes. Our fave way to eat it is with cheese in wraps. From one of the Moosewood cookbooks. Also very forgiving, I use less onion and a can of 4 bean mix.

Milestone for me this weekend! I missed the announcements on Saturday so patting myself on the back instead. It took 5 years and more half marathons before I would tentatively call myself a runner. I wish I had discovered the community and welcoming-ness of parkrun a decade ago.

There was a time when I thought that things only the rich are were caviar and oysters. And then it was steak. Now I've just been shopping and looking at this makes me feel privileged. I don't know whether I have changed or the world has.

Just spent an embarrassingly long time trying to work out if there was a lock I didn't know about on my laptop that was preventing it opening.

Ah, no. Turns out it was the knob of blutack I had left on the corner.
