if you read anthy's witch powers within the "closed world" of the school as the power to change reality, then anthy herself is probably the real projector—after all, in the climactic fight scene, we see the projector disappears and only anthy remains. if the projector is gone, akio can keep the lens

i think the glasses are being paired symbolically with the lens of that stupid giant telescope akio has that's actually a projector. i read her placing them on his desk a bit like "i will no longer allow you to act through me." her child self who utena first met also does not wear glasses
