In northern Indiana, we call that Chicken and Noodles, and serve it over mashed potatoes.
There's also Beef and Noodles, prepared the same way.
A big Amish restaurant in Nappanee serves them both.

We've settled into doing a big Italian-American Christmas meal every year, but still make the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
