This is the same scenario we had in Canada at the end of 2023: the Cons had unrestricted access to 5 times the amount of funds the Libs had.

A widely cited 2000 study that concluded that glyphosate was safe has just been officially disavowed by the journal that published it because it was actually prepared by Monsanto. 👀

I wonder if this will affect Health Canada's dogged 50 year defence of RoundUp & glyphosate.

$500M in public money went to Algoma Steel and now 1,000+ jobs are gone. The Liberals say they support workers, but this is what happens when their bailouts reward corporations instead of families. We need federal projects using Canadian steel and stronger EI for workers who get left behind.

Alberta’s data centre dreams could become a nightmare.

Pembina did the calculations (and they shared their math) and Wonder Valley would set the province back 20 years in its GHG emissions.

Just an FYI, recently went to the Cobequid Community Health Centre in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia and there is a notice of a Measles outbreak on the doors, do you think anyone wore a fucking mask, no they did not, but I did, how stupid are people?

You contribute to the problem by not masking.🤬

"Ottawa’s about-turn to allow access to federal tax credits for capture carbon projects that then use the C02 to boost oil production in old wells is a “game changer” for industry, the oil services sector says."
So as predicted we're now going to pay the oil biz to produce more oil.
Ottawa’s reversal on enhanced oil recovery a ‘gamechanger,’ industry leader says
Energy accord signed by Prime Minister Mark Carney and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith allows access to federal tax credits for carbon capture projects that use C02 to boost oil production

Regulations Carney has ended, never mind Smith wants/says:
~ending consumer carbon pricing,
~ending energy efficiency retrofit programs,
~ending the proposed oil and gas cap,
~pausing EV mandates,
~loosen anti-greenwashing rules

Plus - power to override enviro regs & FN to build major projects

The way to read the Canada-Alberta MOU is that Carney is using the Trump effect as political cover to pursue the deregulatory agenda he’s long wanted. I spoke with @naomiaklein.bsky.social who called it a classic example of the shock doctrine.
Did the climate world misread Carney?
Many in the climate movement saw a fellow traveller in Mark Carney — the man who could preach climate action in the language of finance — but what if they were wrong from the very start?

CBC's JP Tasker: "Once some Indigenous consultation and negotiations with BC take place, Alberta, as the current proponent of this pipeline, will present its plan for the pipeline to the Major Projects Office for expedited review by July 1."

Yeah, CBC, once that other stuff is out of the way ... 😡

Danielle Smith's chief of staff *FreeAlbertaRob* brags on twitter that not only did they wring 7 concessions out of Carney in exchange for an agreement on raising the industrial carbon price by April 1 next year, they're not going to be raising the carbon price on April 1 next year. 👀

Carney: "Canada confirms that it will enable the export of bitumen from a strategic deep-water port to Asian markets, including if necessary through an appropriate adjustment to the Oil Tanker Moratorium Act."
This is the Douglas Channel where Danielle Smith expects massive oil tankers to navigate oil safely from Kitimat to markets in Asia.
This is also where even ferries run aground in shallow water and high windspeeds FFS.
This is why we have a BC moratorium on oil tanker traffic.

First, it’s never going to get built.

Second, say goodbye to every new MP you have in BC. They’re gone.

Third, fuck you.
Premier Smith and I have agreed to a framework built on shared ambitions — to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, unlock the full potential of Alberta’s energy resources, and build a stronger, more sustainable, more competitive economy.
