My 5yo son Aubrey and I and I are on the train. There is a very wholesome Christian-coded family at the next table all making animals out of plasticine. Meanwhile Aubrey is watching Pokémon on his tablet and eating from two different packets of processed snacks at the same time.

I think a lot of big, baffled questions will be asked of the era we currently live in by future generations, and perhaps none will be bigger and more baffled than "Why did all those people suddenly want to make the insides of their houses so grey and shiny?"

From the archive for Rumer Godden, #BornOnThisDay in 1907, my thoughts on BLACK NARCISSUS.

An evocative story of nuns, misguided actions and repressed desires. A truly fabulous novel, adapted for the screen by Powell and Pressburger! #BookSky 💙📚 #BOTD

Can never overstate what a good thing in the world Backlisted is when there are fewer and fewer of those things by the hour.
As promised, I have deleted my original post. But I took a screenshot so that late arrivals can see what the issue is, and also how many people are still supporting Backlisted. Thanks everyone for letting me share my frustrations and also for your kindness. x
