I look at the US and one thing that stands out is people's abject terror at change of any sort, and an inability to look outwards to other places where that change has happened and ask "did it turn out OK?" - see Mamdani but also Oregon resisting self-service gas stations, and universal healthcare.

I live in Manchester UK - 22% Muslim. I taught in a school that had 75% Muslim pupils. Muslim families just want a good education for their kids and to share food with you at sundown in Ramadan. London's Muslim mayor is the most popular for decades, & continues to improve transport and air quality.
