Son of Romanian/Lithuanian refugees. Born in the UK and culturally English. Nottingham Forest fan for 50 yrs. Married to Lesley. 4 kids. Was SQL Server and Access 'guru'. Studied the Wading Hypothesis. MSc from UCL. Moved to Australia to do a PhD at UWA.
Thinking about Charles Oxnard today, who died recently at the age of 91.
His book "The Scientific Bases of Anatomy" reminded us that learning anatomy is more than just "naming the parts".
As we start a new semester at UWA I asked ChatGPT to write a short essay about tissues in Charles' style.

Who are the biggest imperialists today?

I asked ChatGPT to rank the top 20 countries of the world in terms of how much territory they occupy compared to how much was "ethnically theirs" in 1800. The results are both fascinating and alarming.

Obviously caveats apply but this isn't that far off.

Love Carole Cadwalladr but the "techbros" are not controlling the narative on ChatGPT, not yet at least.

I asked it to write a blues song about Trump, Putin and the state of the world, and I think it did a pretty goog job...

Moscow Agent Governing America

No wonder Moscow has put their foot down on the SKO (Special Krasnov Operation - Trump asset running the USA) as their SMO is going so shit.

Wake Up America. Get rid of this crooktraitor asap.

Nuno now has the 2nd best record (percentage wins) of any Forest manger in charge of the club in the top two tiers for more than ten games.

Trump's ad in 1987.

It's been obvious for 37 years that he's a Kremlin asset. Why are our politicians and media 'gurus' still pretending otherwise? Why, even after everything he's been doing since returning to power looks increasingly like a coup d'etat has just occurred?

Today is "Aquatic Ape Day." 🧪
65 yrs ago Sir Alister Hardy FRS announced his idea that Man may have been "More Aquatic in the Past", ending 30+ yrs of deep deliberation.

The field of anthropogeny still haven't forgiven him and students are still taught to sneer.

As always, not a single hominin wading, swimming or diving. Why are anthropogenic reconstructionists always so hydrophobic? Modern humans aren't. Typical scene at Cottesloe Beach, where I went snorkelling yesterday...

Nuno Espirito Santo is currently the 4th most successful Nottingham Forest manager [in charge for >=10 games] ever, ranked in terms of %age wins.

Forest are now top of the current form (last 4 home/away) league!

Alister Hardy (FRS) gave them a big clue in 1960 and Elaine Morgan spent 40 yrs promoting the idea but rather than study it, they just sneered.

The Wading Hypothesis is head and shoulders (literally and metaphorically) above the 41+ others.

After Forest's Boxing Day win against Spurs, Nuno has jumped over Steve Cooper in the All-Time Nottingham Forest manager's table.

A more watery heritage would explain why we're less hirsute than our great ape cousins.

You mean where you get blocked for daring to suggest (and support with evidence) that the human phenotype might have been subject to slight selection from wading, swimming and diving?

It was Elaine Morgan. "People" probably misunderstood (and as a consequence, misrepresented) what she meant.

She was a wonderful woman: an award winning pioneer playwright of early TV drama and one of the earliest 2nd-wave feminist writers.

This has been par for the course in my 30 yrs studying the wading hypothesis.

You write to someone in anthro asking them if they've considered the wading idea.

They reply with some blank dismissal about the 'aquatic ape'.

You probe, asking if they've even understood what it is.

They block you.
