Man, videogames are pretty great right now. Four games I've been super excited for, coming within a month 🔥

It's easy to get gloomy about the industry, but I'm super thankful that games like this can exist. #gaming

I feel like a genius! Probably obvious to others. #godot

I followed an old random tutorial on using subviewport textures to create maps to use in shaders (ex Fog Of War.) It called get_image() to make an ImageTexture for the shader. But you can just pass the texture to the shader by reference!

How are you meant to get good at shaders when the mistakes are so much more fun?

a breakthrough! I was calculating my map uvs wrong and incorrectly thought it was working because i checked it with a tiling texture...

For a short time I had a weekly show & tell with a friend in person - it was such a small thing but I felt some amount of purpose while it lasted. I made two prototypes and they were both game-shaped purely for the sake of show & tell. Like a slapped on win condition. I still play them both.

Made the trip to Arcade Club in Bury to play physical pinball machines for the first time. It was cool! The big standout for me was Jersey Jack's Wizard of Oz, it was such a delight.

Absolutely loving this haunted ad for 1974 Italian home pinball machine, Strike. Courtesy of nypinball.com/flyer/
