I tried making pea soup with the bone from the ham from Thanksgiving. It turned out pretty well. Finding a bay leaf made me think of my mom as she would never use pasta sauce from a jar. No, it was 6 cans of tomato paste, another 3 of tomato sauce and then I always found a bay leaf in my spaghetti.
