It's understandable to crackdown on students using their phones when they aren't supposed to be, but it shouldn't be at the detriment of teachers.
That being said, this new policy is still a better idea than those locking phone pouches.

It looks like we might have the the funds to get some new cameras soon, but this is still such a headache. I have entire lesson plans I'm gonna have to put on the back burner because 4 cameras is nowhere near enough for 20+ students.

Instead, I'll have to use my limited supply of various cameras (~4).
Sure, we can get more but decent DSLRs with lenses cost about $600 a piece AT LEAST.
Phone cameras were such a convenient thing for students to have. They're better than any consumer grade point-and-shoot and every kid has one.
