Otmars right, These team principles have plans/goals that take a few years to see fruit. Firing them yearly leads to churn and the team never makes progress.

I’m guessing newey knows what he’s talking about here. He has seen at multiple teams what it takes to get good model/hardware correlation. I’m guessing that this doesn’t necessarily mean the 2026 car is a disaster, but they might struggle to quickly improve the car if they don’t understand it.

As fantastic as Max is, I believe neither of the two McLaren drivers have hit their ceiling. Given that and how balanced they are with each other, I believe bringing max into the team would lead to a long term upset.

Formula1 could likely benefit from having a handful of “even-odd” year races going forward to give more diversity to the calendar outside of Europe and the US. It certainly would be nice to see South Africa back on the calendar

Probably fans wouldn’t have been complaining so much if there was better coverage over exactly what was being cleared. For myself personally, I didn’t see the debris on the F1 TV stream and the safety car seemed pointless

Can you give more info on what high asphalt abrasion means? I would have thought it meant high tire deg, but this is a one stopped due to that harder compound. How will it change the race strategy and car setup?

Seeing Ferrari not having the pace this year is pretty sad after some of the momentum they picked up in the back half of last year.
