I wouldn't be upset if I got that theme. I like how there's a double meaning of "springs" and "cope"

oh it's also my birthday which always vaguely coincides with LD so that's cool, although now I am Very™ Old™

dunno if they would realistically do that but it made it out of triage so if you platform switch a lot or would just like to make my life easier

I requested the same thing from unity first and they were like lol nah

honestly any of the main few daws is capable of doing what you want. ableton is easier for rapidly making music with samples but fl can do it too. but fl just has a really good piano roll
September 5, 2025 at 12:05 AM
definitely easier to not allow that but also very possible to just set up reference points at the start of each piece of dialogue and just instantly jump the animation states and positions of everything to the corresponding point
September 4, 2025 at 11:17 PM
if you want to make music by midi sequencing with your mouse on a piano roll, use fl studio. if you want to make music by playing an instrument and passing the midi into a vst, use ableton

yeah there's deffs people who reject the label altogether because they know the negative connotation, but I judge it on an individual basis. especially I know a lot of inclusive, nice trophy hunters and fgc players who refer to themselves as gamers just because games are their passion
July 7, 2025 at 11:23 PM
imo it's selection bias, the communities we curate and ban assholes from are who we call players, whereas gamers include malicious brigading harassers. yet our lovely communities of inclusive people also refer to themselves gamers. only gamedevs make that distinction because it's a ux term
July 7, 2025 at 10:51 PM
imo this is because of a one-way relationship. "player" really just means a user. most nice players identify as gamers too not "players". so devs associate their own "players" as nice because that's their curated playerbase, but "gamers" as a whole as malicious because half of society is hostile

if I'm talking about players of my game specifically, when thinking about design, onboarding etc. I say players. if I'm talking about gamers in general I say gamers

I don't really buy into the "don't say gamers" thing because I know loads of lovely inclusive people who call themselves gamers
