There'd be more cars for at least two reasons -- rideshare would be cheaper without drivers, so more people would take rideshares instead of transit; and the ability to multitask instead of driving would avoid tedium even in bad traffic, a significant disincentive to car ownership and driving.

When Bezo bought WaPo he seemed to go into it recognizing the importance of saving a great institution. In retrospect perhaps that was MacKenzie Scott's influence rather than anything inherent to his character.

The internet pre-2008 (basically before smartphones and ubiquitous Facebook) was MUCH better. The world was better too... Seeing live music didn't mean staring at a sea of upheld smartphones, narcissistic tourists didn't have selfie sticks, and politicians weren't full-time social media trolls.

How about a voter guide? Without endorsements please, we don't need to be told who to vote for, but an unbiased rack up of where the candidates stand and their history on a range of issues would be very helpful.
