My greatest wish for the next 4 years is that I (and the so many like me) am proven wrong.
I firmly believe that, whatever we finally understand the human "soul" to be, there is a place and conditions that allows it to "recharge". A place where you can exhale and the entirety of life just floats away.

Home from a 10 day whirlwind trip to Europe for my oldest's graduation present. Was a wild ride. 🧵

Renting 125cc scooters in Florence and bopping around Tuscany for the day. Took the train from Rome and we were riding within 3 hours of departure.

Making me wonder why I would want to come home.

2 things I never eat at home that I'm finding I absolutely LOVE in Europe: mayonnaise, and cantaloupe.

The difference between here is night and day. American mayo tastes like white. European mayo is roch and delicious.

Finally got my fast food beer in France. At our last stop before heading to Italy.

Last dealer-paid service on my Jeep: The cabin air filter is pretty nasty. We can change it, for $80. Uhh, no thanks, I'll worry about that later.

This afternoon in my driveway: changed oil & filter, engine air filter, and cabin air filter. $123 including tax. 45 minutes of my time.

Ok. "Eulogy" might be the best Black Mirror episode they've ever done.

IMO, some of the best TV I've ever watched.

Phenomenal.

Me: hey, GE, I'm really disappointed that my washer broke down after less than 18 months.

GE 5 days later after I ordered and installed the suspect part: let's get a ticket open for you so we can resolve the issue

Me: the part I ordered fixed it

GE: great, let us know if you need further help

#whiskey nerds: Willet has hit Michigan. My local place has managed to get the entire line, including 2 Estate Rye releases and the mythical Purple Top Estate Bourbon.

It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Did JD Vance kill Pope Francis?

I'm just asking questions here.

I don't know why Crash Test Dummies songs have been floating through my head this morning, but I don't hate it.

Plus, Two Knights and Maidens is a song about sex pests that get their comeuppance and we can all appreciate that.

I need to see them play again. It's been more than 30 years.

SMH. Markets still down even with the pause. Probably partly because the pause doesn't apply to China (funny how that works when we get SO MUCH of our stuff, including raw materials from them),

Pro tip:

One-shotting a 1,040 mile trip is hard work.

I did it, but I feel worse than after a workout this morning 😂

Hmm...

Who was in charge throughout all of 2020?

If only we had a way to know.

I think one of the things only lightly being discussed about this administrations shocking display of incompetence is: How many other Signal chats are/were there about different sensitive subjects?

While I think this could be probably the biggest national security breach in a long time...

So the Hulu Oscars broadcast cut off at 10:35 while the show was still going and no way to get back to it.

Tell me again why streaming is where it's at when we just basically got a repeat of the Heidi incident.

Hey morons!

Saying Russia media snuck into the White House is not any better than saying you invited them in!

Drove from home to Houghton, MI yesterday and saw 1(only 1) other WRX I could wave to on the entire trip.

500 miles.

Can't throw a stick around here without hitting 3 Subarus, but almost no fun ones 😂

Well, I wasn't planning on watching the game, but I got sucked in when the beatdown started.

Happy to see the chiefs lose and mahomes struggling.

Good job Eagles. But now it's time for me to hate on you again until at least Christmas.

Simulator golf and I just got a 41.

I've never hit a 41 on a real course.

I'll be honest, as bad as this all is, the pace at which this administration is destroying everything is rather impressive.

Walked in, immediately disabled all the safety features, and just started swinging the flail around.

I have taken a quick visual inventory and come to the conclusion that my Bourbon County Stout collection might be getting out of hand.

Got followed by someone who's bio says "I block socialists". Since he obviously didn't read anything I've posted here, I went ahead and blocked him. Did us both a favor.

As part of the process of divorcing myself from billionaire social media, I've signed up for PixelFed. While BSky is a good replacement for Xitter, I need an alternative to Instagram, and this seems to fit the bill.

If you're over there, feel free to come find me: pixelfed.social/i/web/profil...
