Thanks to this post, one of my oldest friends shared her location with me. It's kind of fun as she lives far away, but I haven't decided if I want to break precedent and share back, so I'm basically running a surveillance state of one.

Yeah that feels like such a mindset shift! I feel like most generations (going back to... forever?) would have rather died than have their parents know where they were at all times.

I do think it's easy to pearl clutch at tech developments that are unfamiliar, and maybe I'm doing that here, but I do think that the acceptance of surveillance is a tipping point for me.

I mean Smith is not wrong that people are still free to answer “no” to this question so it may not be a slam dunk for Canada either. We will see.

Yeah when he started everyone I talked to was like "that's nice, but it won't happen" and yet here we are.

Well, if you change your mind, there IS a very evocative sentence about what a c section scar is like after six c sections and many decades. (She also switches to surrogacy at some point.)
