We counted 257 people at the meeting! There were 72 comments overall (58 anti-287(g)) over 2.5 hours! People spoke on the resource costs (MILLIONS a year), the culture of fear putting people in danger, and gutwrenching personal accounts (including from KIDS!!). Well done, everyone! #ICEOutForGood !

I know people are disappointed that there was no Jackson #ICEOutForGood protest. We're enraged at the murders. We're enraged that ICE is getting away with this. We want to do something with that rage, and we want to do it right here in #JacksonMichigan.
So here's how we're gonna do it.

ICE is murdering people in broad daylight. Renee Good wasn't the first to die at the hands of ICE officers, and she's already not the last.
May she rest in peace. May the legacy left in the wake of her death be one of communities standing together to prevent more deaths like hers.

So, the federal government has officially shut down. Trump and his cronies are refusing to protect our healthcare, trying to lay off thousands of federal employees, and cutting vital services like food assistance for our families - all while using tax-payer dollars to blame others for their actions.
