Its always gonna feel better when its personalized. I think thats why Curse of Straud actually works so well because while a set campaign it does a lot of things to make the players feel like they are the only ones to experience it and their characters are ingrained into the realm.

Also also I just wanna point out forgiveness and turning the other cheek were ingrained in me as a child. People will really go on and say kindness is manipulation because you’re not seemingly as miserable as they are

Conflict avoidance is a survival mechanism usually brought on by trauma its insane of people to demand you just “get better”.

That takes time and therapy.

I’ve had to learn to be direct due to my people pleasing. If I’m not I end up having massive panic attacks, only solved by talking to the other person. But that only works now because I have surrounded myself with people who aren’t manipulative aholes
