I like how I just thought of a path for custom playable party to happen in bug fables modding
and it involves the Theseus Ship: you change Team Snakemouth's data, they're not the same anymore, but still internally recognised as them
you'd register duplicate data for them to still exist in the game

I do think it can be good for certain specific tasks, like tracking down difficult bugs (i.e. things which can be easily verified), but like everything with AI, its utility is enormously overblown. also the ethics thing lmao.

ethics aside, the thing that gets me about AI coding is that if you have a solid cs foundation, writing code is not hard. the hard part is the high-level planning and design that happens before you've written a single line, and I'm sorry, I just do not trust the hallucination machine to manage that.

I published a VRL API design doc that explains the concept of leaves that would let us mod bug fables that solves the reference conflicts that's been limiting us in a way that works with save data persistence

I'm still shocked C# has this obscure access modifier called "protected internal" that I never knew existed until today because I needed a specific usecase for it where I wanted to expose a get only property to a derived class, but let my assembly have the setter access
