Agreed on all points. I do think we’ll see more loans/sales before the deadline though, because I don’t see how everyone who can play at 10 will get meaningful minutes without European football.

Oh, the FK was a terrible call, no argument there, but if you don’t want to get punished by a poor ref, play some of the game in the opposition’s half of the field.

They definitely didn’t create loads of chances, but we didn’t do anything at all outside of Gomez’s missed header. I’m not saying Newcastle had a great performance, it’s more a reflection of how poorly we played in the second half.

Pawson was poor today, but I agree that Newcastle were the much better side today and deserved to get something out of the match.

The injuries obviously haven’t done us any favours, but there’s a real fragility to this team that goes beyond that, in my opinion. Today, and last week are perfect examples of players panicking and not seizing opportunities.

He’s a free agent this summer, so it’s still possible, but I’m sure we’ll have competition to sign him.

We definitely need to strengthen at the back this summer. I don’t think either of them should be a regular starter next season.

It’s obviously a small sample size for Hürzeler, but it demonstrates that some of the questions about his immediate future (and I was as guilty as anyone after the Forest debacle) were a bit premature.

Hürzeler and I are simpatico, it would appear.

Haha, definitely a much better way to spend our morning. It was a solid team performance and my son assisted the winning goal!
