Perversion and inversion of language and concepts, and then the gall to dominate the framing for decades until people forget and their usage somehow becomes the only acceptable one.

As for Mr Bishop? Well that fmr tobacco lobbyist can get royally faaaaaaarked.

On the way from Welly City to band practices in Stokes Valley, I'd drive through SO MANY AREAS of boarded houses waiting to be "upgraded".

NEVER GOT DONE.

But at ELECTION TIME, Bish is all Photo Ops with his f'n spade.

There should be NO shame saying *State Housing*.
The "quality of build" is separate, the word though helps put *clear emphasis* on a Govt's *duty of care to ALL CITIZENS* to help provide, and *especially* to the *poorest*, some *core fundamentals to live an actual life*.

Which, ofc, they f'n hate.

The likes of top "personalities" we've all heard about, at various times you might see "partner got dragged by her hair down the stairs" it might be revealed about "colourful personalities".... who may be prominent across the likes of media, or politics, etc but are ASSHOLES.

It's F'N *PATHETIC*.

Our culture effectively gives a pretty green light to this overall, I mean, just look at the way we constantly, *constantly* let top rugby players off, because charging them "MiGHt uPsET gOoD CarEEr prOsPecTs" and a host of other *absolutely shitty excuses* for letting this crap slide, slide, slide.

So, ironically, enough did our very library, authorised to be built during a recession period, that he literally carried books into the other day and waxed lyrical about... that prob *wouldn't* have been "approved" under THIS council as it continues to rage and shrink the horizon of possibilities...
I almost can't believe someone who carried books into our refurbished, earthquake strengthened library that was *literally a product of deciding to 'go for it' despite aggressive pushback from the usual conservative, penny pinching, fuck-the-joy-it's-all-business-time types cannot hear himself!!

Nobody says you have to continually disrupt people trying to conduct normal business or whatever the fuck it is. I think that's where council process and management might be improved, sure, but you don't hold up *entire fucking communities* just because of DODGY, OFTEN *FACT-FREE OPINIONS* on shit.

FGS we only have to look at our own cities for *recent* improvements along certain "wellbeing" lines that yep, Cons and their ilk whinged, whine and RAGED against.

But what are they doing now?!

AKL Queen Street etc: "Fucking fantastic!" they say.
Ōtepoti improvements: "Fucking fantastic", AGAIN.

JFC I had FA dosh in the 90s, but I, and my friends organised events, bands, a whole swag of stuff that simply would have been utterly impossible *if big parts of Council had not been party to it ALSO*.

*Wellbeing* improvements have improved City biz bottom lines globally. GET THE FUCK ON WITH IT.

They do *not* intend to give up.

They do not intend to revise their shitty, regressive opinions.

They will only seek a better way to NARRATIVE MANAGE their way back into power again.

Don't be fooled by it. They HAD THEIR CHANCE. They threw in their lot.

They MUST ALL GO DOWN TOO, every last one.

The collapse I'm after is collapse of this government and collapse of these Parties in particular.

The see-saw grift that Peters rides on is just holding anything up. He is so loud and proud about being a handbrake on everything because of "commonsense" when it's nothing but cooker prejudices.

I'm not arguing for a second that Blumsky was "really awesome", he presided over a bunch of things that weren't great (sold off stake in Capital Power for one).

But FFS, Blumsky looks absolutely positively (!) better than this "we should just hold progress up because Chung is now my mate" rot.

Then again, some were just so insistent they *had* to have the latest X, Y or Z bedazzling shit (much of which never actually improved underlying UX, ofc, mostly just got in the damn way). And *then* they'd come back and say "Er, can you try...?"...

"...what I suggested *the first time* you mean?"
