Salsa songs can involve race, related topics, and context easily missed if unaware of Spanish or certain issues. My interest. Examples:

Las Caras Lindas, Ismael Rivera
El Negro Bembón, Cortijo
Sin Negro No Hay Guaguancó, Lebron Brothers
La Rebelión, Joe Arroyo
Anacaona, Cheo Feliciano

I just happen to be reading an introduction to game theory. It’s utterly fascinating. I never imagined how incredible scope of game theory is.

This lines up with a writing tip that I particularly like, which is to be consistent in following a time of day set aside for writing. Surprisingly, ‘good days’ may not produce much, whereas ‘bad days’ might result in much productivity.

Impressive. I collect, too. 'Afterlife' is my most recent acquisition. What a film. So 'The Funeral' is the latest release, eh. I'm tempted to get it now...

And you've inspired me to maje a #Criterion post of my own. (I am new to Bluesky and was looking for ideas). Let's see what I can manage.

Connecting the dots, rate hikes (even tiny ones) result in explosive repayments by the government to try covering its insane debt, which is at 260+% of GDP. That’s a valley of darkness it can’t escape from. Printing money can’t help, inflation was the plan (Abenomics) but now it seems ludicrous.

To clarify, Japan’s long-term borrowing costs are now at their highest in decades, with 10-year bonds currently at 1.78%. This amid a massive a spending spree planned by PM Takaichi. Her several off comments (with direct/indirect implications of negative fiscal policy) have not helped.
