Firstly report is on solar farm planning refusal, secondly had it been granted the fear was a total of 700 acres of solar in 10 mile radius - that's 314 sq miles, 200,000 acres - so 700 acres is 0.3% of the locality - doesn't sound like much to me

If the headline is a question the answer is no!

From what I've seen illustrated most HP cylinders take the coil right to the base (makes sense to do so) though simple schematic drawings don't show this.
Also normal to round up actual capacity to nearest 10 litres - have you actually measured your volume?

Thought it would be a good day to see if easy to switch our ASHP to cooling - turns out it is!
I know radiators aren't going to have enough output at temperatures above dewpoint, so this is just to satisfy curiosity (cycles on/off every 5-10 minutes)

Our house is very well insulated (U<0.2) and doesn't overheat - see MVHR snapshot from hottest day so far this year.
We can lose heat at night with open windows, but only necessary in really hot weather

We got here because PH asked the question how do we build low energy buildings which actually perform as predicted - NOT what are the regs that can kick the can down the road and not upset the developers.
So in England we have FHS developer choice with double running costs of existing newbuild!

Yes DHW application looks sensible, and see larger unit (Mitsubishi Q-ton) scheme where it heats the incoming cold water directly and loads this into top of hot water store

Just remembered to actually post the results...had a few hours at max output at about 0 C outside. So here 5kW Ecodan is averaging 4.3 kW after defrosts
Capacity is quoted at 5kW @ 2C, 4.7 kW @ -7C, so coming in at least 10% below rating
