Trump’s corrupt bargains with Putin will not pass. Ukrainian strength and the steely resolve of its European allies will restore the authority of international security law — and the toxic Trump–Putin duo will be decisively repudiated and held to account.

Zelensky also insisted Ukraine be included in any future Trump–Putin talks planned in Budapest: “How can there be a deal about us, without us?” Meanwhile, Trump defended withholding weapons, saying, “We need them for ourselves too.”

He confirmed reports that Trump demanded Ukraine hand over Donbas or “cease to exist,” and said Trump rejected the idea of sending Tomahawk missiles. On NBC’s Meet the Press, Zelensky urged Trump to “get tougher on Putin,” calling him “something similar, but stronger than Hamas.”

Zelensky pushed back hard on Sunday, saying Ukraine will never surrender territory to Russia. “Peace through force can work,” he said. “Ukraine will not give terrorists any bounty for their crimes — we count on our partners to stand by this position.”

Trump later called for both sides to “stop fighting along the current line of contact,” claiming Putin “will get something anyway.” His rhetoric has shattered hopes in Europe that Washington might strengthen support for Ukraine.

Zelensky left the talks deeply disappointed. European leaders now describe their approach as “pragmatic, not optimistic,” seeing Trump’s stance as unpredictable and dangerously aligned with Moscow’s interests.

European officials confirmed that Putin had sent Trump a proposal the day before: Ukraine would surrender parts of Donbas in exchange for small southern territories — a plan Kyiv called unacceptable.

Sources said the meeting turned heated, with Trump repeating several of Putin’s talking points and even telling Zelensky: “You either agree to a deal, or you’ll be destroyed.” He reportedly pushed aside Ukrainian battle maps and demanded Kyiv hand over all of Donbas.

Voices R still being heard here & there discussing the details of US failure to achieve victory in a war it was complicit in before it began. No one cares about those stupid details you're talking about. What matters is why US adopted a policy of attrition rather than victory.

who didn't have the guts to really show up for war. Being in a warzone in a safety zone is NOT being in war and fake paid for bone spurs are not either. These two have no idea how a warrior is to be. They are actors - pretenders. ... 4

10/ Final point: you don’t have to prove direct orders to see the damage. If policy and rhetoric hand your adversary a win, then functionally you’ve done their work for them.

9/ This isn’t conspiratorial paranoia — it’s pattern recognition. Rhetoric that weaponizes resentment and shreds norms plays directly into the Kremlin’s playbook.

8/ The audience matters: domestic followers cheer “strength,” foreign rivals smile. The net effect is predictable: fractured public trust + degraded institutions = strategic advantage for Moscow.

7/ When the military becomes a culture-war prop, deployment decisions and readiness follow the headlines — and adversaries watch, profit, and prepare.

6/ The genius of active measures: make your rival act like their own enemy. No need for hackers or spies if local actors will destroy trust for you.

5/ Bash DEI; celebrate brute force. Sound familiar? It’s the same chorus the Kremlin sells at home and abroad: pluralism = weakness, unity = obedience.

4/ Branding the Pentagon “decayed” and calling out “fat generals” is propaganda-friendly: it feeds a global script that the U.S. is collapsing from rot, not resisting external threats.
