This is my letter to my MP Deirdre Costigan MP regarding voting for amendment 130 & 94 in the planning and infrastructure bill.
Infrastructure bill Dear Deirdre Costigan Could you please vote for amendment 130 to protect wildlife and 94 to protect chalk streams. I thought when Labour came to power with their twin streams of growth, but protecting nature and build our future green energy infrastructure i thought we were in for a bright new future. As yet i have been sadly disappointed. At every point so far it has been returning to the old ways of drilling for more earth damaging fossil fuels, setting lifegiving ecosystems against growth, supporting big tech whatever the cost. It is no wonder there has been such a exodus of Labour voters and members to the Greens. My email to my MP
I am deeply concerned that the UK–US Economic Prosperity Agreement was signed using prerogative powers and may be implemented without parliamentary approval. I am concerned as it may affect Net zero targets, food safety, farming, public procurement, digital rules, and citizens’ rights. I am concerned about the deal’s impact on the EU–UK TCA and devolved powers. Some polls show strong public opposition to lowering standards. I believe Parliament must be given a vote and a full impact assessment must be published before implementation. The UK government, together with the EU, needs to bring US big tech under control and help to create and support alternatives to Amazon, Google, Facebook. Palantir, Mastercard and Visa. Anyone who supplies services to UK government should pay full UK taxes and not come under US extraterritorial law.

I full support the government attempt to close the loophole on very wealthy people owning land to avoid #InheritanceTax . However if it can be shown that other farmers are also affected, the rules should be tweaked to exclude them.

We were in Strasbourg in September and saw this Sparrow tidying up among the café tables. It use to be like that in the UK. Sparrows are coming back and we have them in our garden, but they don't go far from cover like a hedge. #birds #nature
