Im pretty sure 1 bd apartments are oversubscribed anyway. Those are the ones young people and low income aren't finding enough of.

Boomers should downsize into what, tho? Some could get out of those McMansions, but other than that we're mainly in 3bd ranches and capes. We're all supposed to go to 1bd rentals? And "senior living" is mostly high end

A) will fix itself. I do think some of the frustration is about being behind a big demographic bulge
B) we can work on. We have decades now of restrictive zoning and also out-of-whack expectations of family needs.
