In some villages in Myanmar, I came across young girls/nuns who did the same. The boy on the right projects some inner peace. My elder g’daughter is of this age; our western culture is too overprotective, for good (bad) reasons, unfortunately.

Having good schools, decent childcare & the allure of Alaska adventures will attract newcomers as well as keep those who were born/raised here, like my son, his wife & most all of their friends who now have families Those are universal solutions. Glad to be part of my g’kids’ childcare solution.

The woman on the left is my Aunt Grace. My mom, Ellen, and Grace were best friends since PS # 33 (the same elementary school I went to). They married brothers at the end of WW2. Grace married my Uncle Bill. Cool people.

This is a bizarre story. My neighborhood, but I was completely unaware.

Friday night tradition for me. I measure my life in pizza crusts.

My mom slipped into Alzheimer’s some years ago. As she succumbed into that living nothingness, listening to music from her era, late 1930s to the ‘50s brought about a smile and an occasional memory. We kept plenty of swing jazz CDs around her. That’s my mom on the right. 18 yo. 1940.

Roxy Music: Stranded. Every song on this album takes your head to a different place. The songs, Amazona, Mother of Pearl, and Song for Europe are all stunners.

Almost the entire list of grievances laid out in the Declaration of Independence could be applied to the way Trump has conducted the gov’t.

I’ll be thinking about this story for a while: the incredible love those 2 had for each other; the lovely, artistic & purposeful life they led; the desire to exit this world together, privately, with dignity; & the detailed dispersal of their effects.

How often do folks get life - and death-right?

The trick is convincing folks to make that mind-shift from driving to riding the bus. Waiting in the cold/snow is an issue. There is live tracking for each bus, so knowing that might help.

Maybe you might consider editing one ‘f’ word out of this (and it’s not fuck)? And, what did he do this time?

Every f’n day the Trump administration becomes more depraved.

The night before leaving for Alaska, friends of mine in a band were playing in the outdoor beer garden there. They performed Johnny Horton’s North to Alaska for me. It was touching. The next morning I began driving north and have never been back. I want to mtn bike in Bentonville, so one day, I will
