Same, used to be ride or die for raw pixels but after seeing how much better the texturing is on a whole bunch of sprites

and early 3d console environments, I can't stand raw pixels anymore.

I think for vrc+streaming, having the steam machine running vrc and streaming will be the way to go like a desktop+hmd combo.

But of course I would love it if the frame can handle that workload on it's own

I learned early on in QA that there is no such thing as a game with zero bugs lmao

I'm laughing in QA tester about 0% bugs 😂

For me, the stupidest part about all this AI bullshit is how it's replacing jobs that really should have no business even entertaining the thought of replacing staff with clankers.

QA should be one of the safest video game jobs, but instead it's among the most vulnerable to automation. Sad stuff

Now if you're indie, money's definitely a common short but otherwise time is not nearly as much of an enemy as it is in a studio.
Management imposes hard deadlines and never wants to delay even if it's obvs needed. They're not interested in polish because they're not interested in your satisfaction

This is not me trying to pass the buck to devs either. The reality is that broken products are a result of broken upper management.

For QA, once a bug report is submitted, it is not up to us whether that bug gets fixed or not. For devs, available time and priorities are the resources to balance

And that's all just on the surface level. There're other processes QA has to do that're massively important to a game's success.

It is the single most thankless job in that management doesn't care about you, you don't get the rockstar press of devs & players are quick to blame QA for broken product

And going back to bots testing themselves, a clanker also doesn't know what constitutes a bug or warrants reporting. Sometimes we find bugs that make the game more fun too (E.G. combos started as a bug in SF2).

A bot might also write junk bug reports (the way that bug quotas manifest junk bugs)

they have a bunch of clankers basically testing themselves. Current AI is NOT intelligent, it is just auto-complete on steroids.

QA isn't just about reporting bugs, it's feedback about gameplay/balance/game world/music, anything about the actual artistry, wtf would an AI know about these things?
