Seeking leaders at every level who prioritize the well-being of Alaskans and respect the dignity of all. I believe in actions over words. Proud Haida, hoping to make my people proud.

It’s time we demand a future that includes us all.

These systems didn’t just restrict ballots – they restricted representation, autonomy, and dignity.

When you don’t have a vote, you don’t have a say. You can’t speak for your family, your community, or your future. That is why every election matters, not just the presidential ones.

It wasn’t long ago that many Alaskans were denied that voice. My own partner wasn’t allowed to vote until 1958.

It’s time we reclaim the art of respectful dialogue and remember the importance of kindness, both online and offline. Let’s strive to uplift one another instead of tearing each other down.

Unlike face-to-face discussions, which allow for resolution and understanding, online exchanges often lead to defamation and division.

I wish that value had been passed down more widely. Today, it feels like a lot of conversations are laced with disrespect, and social media acts as a shield for people to express harmful opinions without accountability.

I can’t help but think of my NaNa and Chinna, who believed in a different approach: if they had nothing nice to say, they simply wouldn’t say anything at all.
