A thing that fascinates me about Spike Hellis is how they hardly ever rely on any techno or disco beat or other straight-within-bar patterns in their rhythmic structures. Just like Skinny Puppy they are able to create grooves from disconnected elements, grooves which end up being unique to the song.

This is, I think, my top 5 NIN b-sides:
