That urban planner from Buffalo who cares too much about the history of streets and street names.

Had a great time this evening meeting author Jonathan Eig and hearing him speak at the @buffalolibrary.bsky.social this evening! Can't wait to dive into this MLK biography, which won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize. Books sold from Zawadi Books, of course!

I have decided that I think I'm going to go to every @bisonsbuffalo.bsky.social game in June to celebrate my birthday and detox my soul. #goherd

One of my favorite thing is when the bulbs still bloom on vacant properties and you can see evidence of a long forgotten garden someone once cared for...you can demolish buildings but the ground remembers, the city remembers. #hopespringseternal

Mom also found this random rocking horse in the attic that I have never seen before in my life. Dad said we played with it at the old house, as if that wasn't 38 years ago lol

Spending the day with Franklin Roosevelt today. It's my third time here, but this time feels...different. The New Deal that was pledged to the American people, a goverment that takes care of the most vulnerable, it feels far away.

I'm never one to glorify driving, but driving into this sunset on the Kensington Expressway immediately after learning that they have to do a full Environmental Impact Statement is absolute perfection!! Chef's kiss👩‍🍳

Spent this morning making campaign buttons for Sean Ryan. Campaign buttons are my favorite.

Kind of wouldn't mind if we could go back in time to have horse driven ambulances. Photo from 1904.

It's time for my favorite Buffalo history story! 211 years ago today, during the War of 1812, residents thought the Village of Buffalo would be safe. There were 2,000 militia camped here in Lafayette Square (then Courthouse Square), protecting them.

My headphones died after 3.5 years and more than 3,600 miles walked. Thanks for your service, Sony headphones, you have done good.

Had to go to the snow belt for a meeting today. Obviously made a snow angel while a bunch of my state colleagues watched 🤣🤣

I will say, it's a good amount of pictures too, very excited about a lot of the pics I've found and some of the modern stuff still standing... like this statue on South Park I've driven past a million times and never knew the story of!!

I have to walk two miles instead of one block to pick up my prescriptions now bc my Rite Aid closed, but at least I get to soak up the beauty of the Lower West Side on the way. (Ask me again in February how I feel about it)
