I am looking forward to #mip2026 at the University of Connecticut. (Despite what you may suspect, the location was probably not chosen [exclusively] because it has "cut" in the name.)

See you all in Connecticut for #mip2026!

Meanwhile, you can play the new version of the cutting plane game here: gonzalomunoz.org/the-cutting-...

… or you can start thinking about GPU algorithms for MIP to enter the next Land–Doig Competition!

With #mip2025, the MIP Workshop returned to the University of Minnesota after a twenty-year hiatus. Can you spot any commonalities with the group photo from #mip2005?

Thank you to the #mip2025 program, local, and computational committees; to our logo designer Julia Silbermann; to the invited workshop and summer school speakers, flash talk contributors, and poster presenters; and of course to the 130+ registered participants from our warm and welcoming community.

Thanks for summarizing, @thserra.bsky.social. I share this belief that reducing barriers to formulating (correct!) #orms optimization models (and automating analyzing / improving them) can positively impact society. I also strongly concur about keeping a responsible/trained human in the loop.

Yes! DOTs are (typically) recorded and available at talks.discreteopt.com/past (or more directly on our YouTube channel). However, we are behind with posting this season’s talks. If there are any that you would like to see before they are uploaded, please email me.

It is often just MIP dressed as FancyMIP :).

And you have the power! You should attend and then MIP will be even more MIP.

Yes! The topic is Primal Heuristics for MIQCQPs (technically, there will be both MIQPs and MIQCQPs). An announcement with more details is forthcoming.
