So, I'm working on my Pokémon region inspired by my home state of Alaska, the the psuedo-legendary will be based on the Tizheruk, with a bit of Jörmungandr thrown in. I'm thinking Dragon/Ice, with a Dragon/Poison variant from another region.

The Broken Empire saga (consisting of the Prince of Thorns trilogy and the Red Queen's War trilogy) by Mark Lawrence is easily, IMHO, one of the greatest stories ever told.
I highly recommend reading them if you get the chance!
