Bali Zoo has ended elephant rides!

Elephants are intelligent, social animals. Many scars come from being forced to perform or carry people. Animals are still exploited for tourism worldwide, but this is a step forward we should see everywhere.

Protect Riverstone Wetlands. Make a submission!

The NSW Government’s Marsden Park North proposal would destroy this wetland, displacing wildlife that cannot be relocated, including migratory shorebirds and the Green and Golden Bell Frog.

Our MP Emma Hurst’s commitment to farmed animals this year and every year.

The lived reality of animals is what we are fighting to change.
Our job is to bring this barbarity to an end as fast as possible.
And we will never give up.

From all of us at Animal Justice Party NSW, our hearts are with everyone affected by the devastating fires. Animals displaced, injured and killed. People who lost homes, livelihoods and safety. We thank the carers, vets, volunteers and firefighters who worked in dangerous conditions to protect life.

If animals are sentient, it’s worth asking whether welfare reforms go far enough. This Guardian letters piece challenges the idea that kinder systems fix a fundamentally harmful model and calls for honesty about where our food comes from.

SHOOTERS PARTY NOT HAPPY

Emma Hurst MP: "BREAKING NEWS from the Shooters Party HQ: They are sore because lots of people don't want to relax gun laws - and they thought it would just be the Animal Justice Party who cared.

Diddums. Stop shooting animals and get a real hobby."

Lapland UK has ended live reindeer displays!🎉
They now use reindeer models and animatronics.

This followed years of campaigning and 63,000 petition signatures.

We have been speaking out about live animal displays here in NSW. We can move to the same future without using animals for entertainment 🦌

From MP Emma Hurst:

"We've secured the first step in a full ban on SGAR poisons. Amazon has stepped up to be the first company to implement a ban on both SGARS - and we are already speaking to other major groups too. Bleeding to death from the inside- over days. That's the cruelty of SGAR poisons."

The Drake Inquiry report confirms that this industry fails dogs, can’t regulate itself and simply cannot be trusted with their lives.

Dogs are still being bred, killed, injured and exported while the Government hesitates. Bring back the ban on greyhound racing for good.

MASSIVE WIN: Greyhound racing at Wentworth Park is ending! 🐕💖

After 90 years, the most deadly track in NSW will become a green shared space for the community.

To everyone who spoke up for greyhounds, marched, emailed, advocated and never gave up, this historic win is yours.

Compassion won today.

No one should have to choose between escaping violence and protecting the animal they love.

This #16DaysOfActivism we’re calling out the reality too many victim-survivors face and the reforms needed to keep people and their animals safe.

Our MP Emma Hurst has a simple message for the holidays: keep kindness at the center of everything we do.

"I choose to do as little harm to others as possible- be they human, or non-human, similar to me, or not like me at all.

This Christmas, be truly kind to all kinds xx"
December 2, 2025 at 10:28 PM
Real reindeer don’t belong in shopping centres. Bright lights, loud crowds and long transport hours cause fear and stress, no permit can stop that. They’re sentient beings.

Community pressure is working to stop this. If you see reindeer used as “entertainment”, speak up and contact management.

Conservation shouldn’t be code for killing.

Wild animals deserve freedom from human violence and the right to live safely, protected and in harmony alongside us. Our laws don’t reflect that yet, but they could.

This is a powerful read that lays out a better way forward.

Wild animals are not populations to be managed for our benefit, but are individuals who value their own lives. These individuals have more of a claim to life and to freedom from harm than humans have claim to kill them. www.currentaffairs.org/news/wild-an...
Wild Animals Deserve Rights, Too
Existing models of conservation and animal rights often ignore and exclude wildlife. That has to change.
