I will also watch the Band Aid documentary again. As someone who grew up with Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and the Taylors on my walls - it’s a thing. That & my love for George Michael (post Wham) and the clip w Le Bon, Bono, and Sting singing together is unreal. Bowie for the live show is classic

It’s hard to sell the future when folks don’t know if they can pay the light bill tomorrow. So calling them financially illiterate is incredibly condescending imo.

People living paycheck to paycheck aren’t thinking 10 to 20 to 50 years ahead - same folks who take out 7 year auto loans. They are trying to put food on the table and keep a roof over their head. Cheaper monthly bills is really compelling, as is ‘cash’ payments for insurance.
