Cosby may well have been a role model for Lammy when he was growing up (prior to discovering the truth about him). But you don't cite him as such, years AFTER discovering it.

Just like you don't praise Saville, Harris, or Glitter for ANYTHING now – even if you DID like them when you were a kid.

Well, you COULD do that... OR...

"Did you vote for Corbyn?"
"I did. Did you vote for Starmer?"

I judging him by how much he's done to (try to) improve people's lives since becoming PM.

He blocked me for telling him he was now saying exactly same things about Israel, that Corbyn was saying while he, JOB, was making antisemitism accusations.

It's what you say about someone who is obliged/forced to do something they're quite obviously and spectacularly ill-suited and ill-equipped to do.
November 24, 2025 at 1:04 PM
💯

He'll then go on to tell you that Starmer's actually doing quite well in difficult circumstances (despite all evidence to the contrary).

They don't seem to understand ANYTHING.

They think ALL their voters are going to Reform whilst Greens and LibDems polling increases.
They think they can fight off Reform by becoming Reform.
They think they can fix the problems caused by 15 years of austerity with more austerity.

Clueless.
November 24, 2025 at 12:30 PM
Nobody. The left dont like what he says, and the right don't believe he means it.
November 24, 2025 at 12:23 PM
Possibly, but the more like Reform they become, the less likely that will happen.

I think Labour's best hope is the Burnham bounce.
November 24, 2025 at 12:20 PM
I think this might be JOB noting which way the wind is blowing and giving himself a future opportunity to tell us he told us so.

Had I been in a Tory/Labour swing seat, I would have reluctantly voted Labour. However, it would not have changed my opinion of Starmer's Labour, and I would still have said the same things about it. I got 'tory enabler' accusations despite my constituency being 501st on Labour's target list.
November 24, 2025 at 12:13 PM
So true about the 'Machiaveellian geniuses.'

It drives me nuts when I hear people like James O'Brien describe Corbyn as 'the most UNPOPULAR Labour leader in history" (12,877,918 votes – 40%) and Starmer as "DELIVERING a landslide victory" (9,708,716 votes – 33.7% and a collapse in the tory vote).

That absolute certainty that he was going to bin the manifesto he was elected on the moment he got into power.

(TBF he DID bin his leadership pledges as soon as he became leader – but MSM were never going to let him renege LEFTWARDS to the entire COUNTRY.)
November 24, 2025 at 10:04 AM
Yes, they did say that before the election, but "They just had to get elected first!" 🙄
November 24, 2025 at 9:44 AM
If that IS the case, he's exceeding his brief (at least in narrative if not in policy).
November 24, 2025 at 9:20 AM
I agree with @fatbadger442.bsky.social. They're pushing the overton window further right.

Although it was a *bit* conspiracy theory, I always suspected Starmer was a tory plant – installed to maintain the status quo until the tories returned to power. It’s getting harder to reject that theory now.
