Underrated episode on megalomania. Applicable now.

I this episode an astronaut discovers tiny people and becomes a megalomaniac and forces them to build a statue of him.

After he is accidentally killed by much larger astronauts, the tiny people pull the statue down. It lands on his dead body.

We can do that with all monuments to the mad king.

At a welcoming ceremony with Japanese prime minister Sanae Takaichi, at the Akasaka State Guesthouse in Tokyo, an obviously confused Trump simply stopped in front of the band. Prime minister Takaichi suddenly became Trump's keeper. When he was supposed to stop and both Takaichi and Trump were supposed to both turn and bow to the flags of Japan and the U.S., Trump kept dazedly walking, and randomly saluted no one.

It was at this point, Takaichi's jaw momentarily dropped as she apparently couldn't believe what was happening or how to deal with an always irrational and dangerous crazy man in need of a keeper (not really her job) and who would rage-retaliate against her whole country if chose to be offended by anything she did.

It tookTakaichi, and also the military official to Takaichi's immediate left in the image, to herd Trump to a small platform and up two steps for a photo op.

Trump was obviously confused and possibly totally checked out of reality. He might not have even known where he was.

Kimmel didn't say the shooter is MAGA; below is a direct quote.

He said MAGA was distancing itself from the shooter and using Kirk's death for political gain.

He pointed out Trump wasn't really grieving.

Before this monologue, shortly after Charlie Kirk was murdered, Jimmy Kimmel addressed it.

"Thank you for joining us here in Los Angeles, the second largest city in a bitterly divided nation where, like the rest of the country, we're still trying to wrap our heads around the senseless murder of the popular podcaster and conservative activist Charlie Kirk yesterday, whose death has amplified our anger, our differences," Kimmel said on his show last week.

"I've seen a lot of extraordinarily vile responses to this from both sides of the political spectrum. Some people are cheering this, which is something I won't ever understand," he said in the opening monologue.

"We had another school shooting yesterday in Colorado, the 100th one of the year. And with all these terrible things happening, you would think that our president will at least make an attempt to bring us together.

But he didn't," Kimmel continued.
"President Obama did. President Biden did. Presidents Bush and Clinton did. President Trump did not. Instead, he blamed Democrats for their rhetoric," he said, shifting his monologue to attack Trump for his past behavior on matters such as the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The following Monday he took aim at Trump again. It's quoted in its entirely in the box.

Trump had been claiming that there was some sort of left wing plot to kill Kirk, made a lot of untrue claims about liberals and made threats and thereby inflamed the right to claim the left had brought in an assassin to kill Kirk and other untrue claims with lots of people on the left issuing threats.

In the text image readers can see Kimmel again mocking Trump; mocking Trump for the false wild claims he and his allies made about the shooter, who was raised MAGA and for repeatedly, when reprters inquired, changing the topic from Charlie Kirk's death to bragging about the ballroom he insists on building.

Trump did not seem to be the least bit bothered by Charlie Kirk's death.

We can't expect it to understand how the Columbia River works.

Free speech says we can talk about Kirk at length and in detail.

Those on the right currently threaten those on the left with various harms because Kirk is dead.

You currently act as though Kirk is the first lethal political violence.

Seems a wee bit disingenuous.

Here's some perspective.
