Oh, yeah, I guess the word's the article too. That feels like a case of the author not using it correctly, because it's the opposite of what the rest of the article is saying. But the Guardian does use AI for headings.

I'm pretty sure the subheading was written by AI. The actual article is complaining about women writing gay stuff for women. Like gay man haven't been writing women for men for centuries.

The subheading was probably written by AI, which skimmed the article and completely misunderstood the writer's complaint.

Think of all the wars he wanted to start and then didn't. Those count, right?
December 11, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Is it really abuse when they give him everything he wants? Would he really be happier in a home? Setting aside whether he deserves it or not.

“over double the amount of monthly rent they pay at the property.” That won't even cover the security deposit at a new place, let alone moving costs.

And yet our infant mortality rate is has gone down significantly since formula was invented.

Meth, sure. Antidepressants, antibiotics. Chemo. If formula's bad for the child, then the mother must be forced to feed it breastmilk, no matter how it affects her health.
December 9, 2025 at 2:23 AM
Sometimes formula is better. Sorry. That's science. What the mom puts in her body goes to the baby and that's not always healthy. Will we ban all breastfeeding mothers from getting healthcare because "breast is best"?
December 9, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Also, you're missing the bigger picture. This is a prelude to RFK Jr. regulating who can and can't have formula based on his criteria, without considering the reality of who can and who can't breastfeed.
December 9, 2025 at 12:24 AM
Randos on the internet who think they're "open to science" because they read a paper once is exactly how we ended up with RFK Jr. Breastfeeding does have advantages over formula, but formula is perfectly healthy if the parent has access to clean water.
December 9, 2025 at 12:09 AM
What are you talking about? That's incredibly controversial. Thus the controversy over it. Believe whatever you want, but it doesn't make it true.
December 8, 2025 at 11:34 PM
The problem is who decides what is "necessary". It needs to be the birthing parent and their family and medical practitioner, not RFK Jr. or some rando on the internet.
December 8, 2025 at 11:24 PM
No, this is entirely relevant here. Saying "you can replace an incubator with a mother's chest" and "you can replace formula with a mother's milk" both completely ignore that these things are frequently not true.
December 8, 2025 at 10:37 PM
I think you're confusing an incubator with a heating pad.

This looks like an illustration to an Onion article about the "War on Christmas".
December 8, 2025 at 7:10 PM
Yeah, I'm unclear on how giving him everything he wants and telling him everything he wants to hear while people do things on his name that he would enthusiastically support is abuse. Putting him in middle-class memory care would be his idea of hell.
December 7, 2025 at 1:05 AM
Ok, I haven't been following this closely. How is he being abused?
December 6, 2025 at 8:47 PM
He's being used, but he's also getting his every whim catered to. It may be elder abuse, but he's not the one suffering. He's not the one being tortured or disappeared or murdered.

Yeah, he's being manipulated, but he couldn't be used like this now if he hadn't lived like this his whole life.

And while eating only fast food isn't the best idea, there are a lot of nutrients in a burger. And calories are not the enemy! They're the point of food!
December 3, 2025 at 6:15 PM
In California you can qualify for EBT benefits that allow you to use them for fast food- if you're in a situation where you can't cook, like being unhoused. So yeah, let's give homeless people a sack of flour and a dozen raw eggs.
