after critiquing tpot a bit, a critique of the left for balance: this all-pervasive paranoia of “okay their takes are surface-level reasonable but what if they’re *secretly* a nazi?” is absolutely corrosive and leads to insane levels of echo chamber formation

there’s something hilariously absurd about how people will hide their very milquetoast centrist takes behind 1000 layers of illegibility bc they’re so afraid of getting cancelled; and then very left-brained people see that illegibility and just jump to “ah yes a nazi” and cancel them anyway

i dont want to post an object-level take on the latest tpot discourse but i do want to offer the observation that if tpot wants to seriously live up to their implied ideal of being the better person, they should post more genuine reflection on the issues and less snarking at the outgroup

have we discussed whether things are boba or kiki on here yet

i really want bluesky to succeed but im currently kind of pessimistic. feels like this is growing too fast, too soon, with insufficient aforethought.

threads on this app seem to break a lot, it feels like. feels like i’m often missing context to posts?

ngl really disappointed that this site has the exact same discourse as twitter now. Politicks was a mistake. oh well it was cute while it lasted.

my biggest complaint with this app is that it’s even worse than twitter at actually giving me all the posts on my timeline without massive gaps in them

i’ll see like 3 hours of posts and then suddenly the next post was 6 hours earlier
