My theory: during Starfield's dev Bethesda ran into enough issues with Creation Engine 2 that they decided to switch over to UE5 for ES6.
Oblivion Remastered began dev in 2021 and was a litmus test for the new engine.
ES6 began dev in 2023, after 2 years of testing the viability of UE5 with OBR

I'm trying to minimize using fast travel in my Oblivion Remastered playthrough so I can enjoy the scenery and it makes it really obvious how many of the quests are designed around it. I've settled for not fast-traveling to any of the cities until I've "discovered" them.

First time I've bought a game on release for the past 5 years. I really hope I haven't fallen for it again
to be honest I was expecting the Oblivion remake to be a another rumor and was going to post this today. but since I went through all the effort of making it I'm posting it anyways
