Still the most mesmerising, amusing, atmospheric, crazy and exquisite painting: Ucello's 'The Hunt' at the Ashmolean. A narrative focus disappearing into complete darkness; mayhem, adrenalin and joy everywhere else. Wonderful.

Wishing all the Kathleen Ferrier Award semi-finalists all the best for today, but *particularly* rooting for the four current and recent members of the Glyndebourne Chorus: Henna Mun, Hector Bloggs, Alex Bower-Brown and Philippe Durrant. Toi toi toi!

The Glyndebourne Chorus assembled this week for the first ever rehearsals of Wagner's Parsifal at Glyndebourne - a real privilege to be a part of this undertaking. #historic

I'm looking forward to conducting Ethel's superb Serenade in D next weekend!

Ethel Smyth's Serenade in D is a winner: quirky, passionate, bold, rollicking. Throw in a thrilling Saint-Saens concerto and crackling Mozart to start and this is a great programme with a super orchestra.

Please do come! Saturday 9th March, Notting Hill.

A huge pleasure to represent @glyndebourne today at the UK Theatre Awards at London's majestic Guildhall, where we were nominated in the Opera category for 'Dialogues des Carmélites'.

Many congratulations to Opera North, who took the prize with their production of 'Orpheus'.
