They seem to think this is somehow free money that won't have any impact on the sector. It is either they don't understand the impact that it will have, or they do understand but don't care. I'm not sure which is worse, but I guess the effect of the policy doesn't change based on the reason for it

Stop making me feel better about myself!

Yeah. I saw him at a festival and he had obviously told the organisers that they couldn't display any close ups of him on the big screens and he just stood there singing his songs badly. I was so excited beforehand and then so let down

Seeing Bob Dylan live was perhaps the biggest let down of any gig I have ever been to

Really interesting paper @lindsayrait.bsky.social that we've already discussed in our lab journal club!

I think scientists spend too much time arguing on Bluesky and not enough time writing/thinking/doing

If you want less "narrative" or "exposition" then fine, but that is orthogonal to bullet points.

In this case you used prose to argue your case because prose are just a good mode of communication. If you want to compress science info, they are still effective.

But again, the format isn't relevant. Anyone can bullshit with bullet points or prose.

I can't believe I decided to argue hot take Blake of all people, but I'm in a mischievous mood and it just so happens that you are wrong ☺️

Ironic that you aren't using bullet points to argue your case here. Almost as if they aren't an effective means of communication relative to prose 😉

But to repeat, the format is a red herring. I think you care more about what information is included/excluded and how much exposition there is.

Maybe a better trolling reply to your last post would have been:

- impossible to lie with bullet points
- everything always accurate and clear
- exponential increase in clarity
