What we needed to hear from our mayor after a dump truck killed a crossing guard on Thursday: “These roads are dangerous. We’re going to fix them.” What we got instead: “Everyone — whether driving, walking, or cycling — has a role to play in keeping our community safe.”

If I suspect the best way to deal with nazi man-babies marching in Niagara-on-the-Lake is to just wade in and slap them around a bit, does that make me Antifa?

Given the current temperature, it feels like a good time to reassert the only rational position on immigration: People should be able to go and live wherever the heck they like, and Canadian citizenship should be freely given to anybody who wants to come and live here.

"Hamilton police officers used 'legally justified' force when the ribs of a 60-year-old double amputee were broken during a mental health apprehension, concluded Ontario’s police watchdog."

Infuriating story with a helluva lede. Thanks @jofrketich.bsky.social.

“There is no material difference between having someone beat you up and insult you versus having someone beat you up and apologise.”
My latest -- Carney has made his career (and his weath) by bending government to allow corporations to profit. We should all beware a Carner PM and organize to force him to do what will not come naturally -- take from the corporate class and redistribute wealth among everyone else.
A Carney in charge of the circus

There was really just one serious motion to tame the budget, and only two councilors willing to support it.
